Accessing Your Data Remotely

Remote access: The ability to log onto a network from a distant location. Generally, this implies a computer, a modem, and some remote access software to connect to the network.

We live in and increasingly mobile society. We travel more for work, personal pleasure and in some cases we even have jobs where we are expected to work from home. Obviously there are heaps of advantages to this kind of mobile lifestyle, but there are also some challenges. The challenge we want to discuss here is maintaining consistent, secure access to your information.

There are a few ways that you can get access to information from remote servers and personal computers. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages. What we all want to accomplish is access to information where and when we need it. Here are some ways you can get access to your information remotely;

· Put the information into your own website that has a secure log-in

· Get access through a VPN (virtual private network) on the Internet

· Get some Remote access software that hooks you up to your personal PC

· Use remote control software for managing a PC from another PC

· Keep your data on a secure third party server

There are pro's and con's to all of the different methods above. Here are some of the considerations;

· Is your data secure?

· Is the software you are using to get to your data quick to install on a remote PC?

· Is the PC where the data is stored always hooked to the internet?

· Does your PC have firewall protection to prevent unwanted access?

· Is your PC always powered up and ready to go?

· Does anyone else have access to your PC that could turn it off and cause you to loose access?

· Is your PC or server reliable and always working?

· Is there someone available to reboot your PC or server if it goes down?

· Do you know how to set up and maintain your own VPN?

The above information is not meant to be comprehensive, but rather to give you an idea of some of the issues you face when trying to maintain reliable remote access to your information. As you can see there are a variety of problems that can occur. The biggest single issue is the availability and condition of the PC that stores the data. The challenge is to find a method that assures your access to your information, no matter what!

Lots of things can cause your PC to be offline. Your PC may crash and no one is there to re-boot it. Your internet access could go down and you have no way to get the link going again remotely. Someone with physical access to your PC could interfere with it and then not be available to fix it. You could make administrator changes to your PC that could cause your remote access to fail. You can probably add to this list without too much trouble.

There are lots of reasons for needing to have mobile access to information. The key thing is that when you need it, you need it. You really want to be able to rely on your information being at your fingertips. If you need to do a presentation and your presentation is not available it can be devastating. If you are working to a deadline and you can't get access to critical documents or data, what do you do?

What makes telecommuting and mobile work possible is secure, reliable and efficient access to the people you work with and the data you require to do your job. If your access is sporadic, then your results are as well, aren't they? So how do you assure access and avoid problems?

An ideal solution is to store your information on a hosted, secure, robust server that is looked after by professionals that are operating from a business strength facility with redundant services and 24 hour care. In this scenario there are many added advantages;

· Your data is always online

· Data is consistently and frequently backed-up.

· You are using a powerful business strength server

· You don't need your own servers, firewalls, etc.

· The links to the Internet are normally redundant and therefore seldom down.

· You are not as reliant on technical people.

· You don't face resource problems from lack of disk space or processing power.

· Such facilities generally have good virus protection.

· Normally you can get a copy of your data back-up at any time.

· The facility is typically 'on the fly' scalable to your requirements.

· The cost and risk is generally much less than buying and operating your own infrastructure.

Particularly where a small organization or an individual is involved, the simplest solution is always the best. Why take on the risk of operating your own facilities when you can easily outsource the service for less money and far less hassle? It leaves you time to do what you do best!

Various Types of Apple iPod

If there is one thing Apple is known for, it is constant product releases. Each of their products has several different sub-types, and the iPod is a prime example of this practice. The various types of Apple iPod can be hard to keep straight for someone who doesn't read multiple technical blogs every single day. Let's take a look at some of the different types in more detail.

The iPod Touch

This is Apple's latest version of the iPod, and it is basically the iPhone without the cellular and camera capabilities. It also comes with more memory standard than the iPhone, with 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models to choose from. Going beyond the capabilities of a normal MP3 player, the iPod touch has full internet access through its wi-fi connection, a completely touchscreen interface, and allows you to play games, movies, and TV shows as well as listen to MP3's.

The iPod Classic

Of the various types of Apple iPod, this is perhaps the most recognizable. This is the signature style that has been around for years. The features are nowhere near those of the iPod touch, but for what it lacks in "wow factor", it makes up for with storage. Up to 120GB of songs, audio books, pictures, movies, and music videos can be stored right on its hard drive.

The iPod Nano

This slim MP3 player is called the Nano for a reason. It weighs around an ounce and a half, and is only 1/4 inch thick and 1 1/2 inches wide. It doesn't have near the memory of the classic iPod, but its small form factor makes up for it.

The iPod Shuffle

The iPod Shuffle is by far the most inexpensive of all the options. It doesn't offer a ton of storage or a flashy screen, but it is a small, practical MP3 player that can suite the basic user's needs just fine.

Audio Tape Transfer - How to Transfer Cassette Tapes to Computer, CD and MP3 Using Audacity

To transfer a cassette tape to computer you will need the following:

  • Working Cassette Deck

  • Cable to connect the cassette deck to your computer

  • Computer with a sound card

  • Software application that lets you record stereo audio

The most important factor in a good transfer is the quality of the analogue playback machine, i.e. the tape deck you're using. Try to find or use the best quality and best sounding one to your ears that you can. If you have or can borrow a 3 head machine especially a Nakamichi and it's working well that should give you excellent sound on playback. It's a good idea to clean the heads, capstans and pinch rollers with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and a q-tip.

They often become dirty with tape oxide that can muffle the high frequencies and give you a dull sounding recording. Gently rub the heads with the wetted cotton bud until no more brown gunk comes off. Most computers and laptops have sound cards with 3.5mm, minijack connectors on them.

If you have a more specialised sound card it may have larger 1/4" jacks or even XLR connectors but you probably won't need this article if you have one of those! You will need a cable with two phono connectors at one end, for the tape deck, and a single 3.5mm mini stereo jack and the other. These cables can be bought very cheaply and are often used to connect media players to stereos. Plug you cable in and get ready to record! There is a wealth of recording software for Windows, Macintosh and GNU/Linux to choose from, some of it expensive, some cheap and some free!

We're going to use the free software, which is actually very good. Point your web browser to the Audacity website and download and install the version suitable for your operating system. Once you've got Audacity installed and working you'll need to check in the Preferences Audio I/O menu that you have the correct playback and recording inputs selected. If that's ok then press the big round, red record button and then start your tape running. If you see the meters moving up and down and a waveform being drawn across the screen, well done it's recording your tape! It might be a good idea though to stop and check it sounds ok as very low or very loud recordings will not sound good. You will need to be very careful of what's called clipping. Digital recorders can't record 'into the red' like your old tape deck could.

Once they go over 0dB you'll get clipping. This sounds terrible so it's best to check your levels and give yourself a bit of breathing space and record lower. This breathing space is called headroom. If the recording has gone ok, it's safest to save the file first before you do anything to it, using the File Save As menu. Now you can play it back, edit it, burn it to a CD or convert it to an OGG or MP3 file for your media player. If you've any large gaps at the beginning or end, it's a good idea to trim these. Just use the 'I' beam tool and select the flat looking bits of waveform at the start and end of your recording, then press backspace just like you would to delete a word or paragraph in a wordprocessor.

If your recording is over 80 minutes and is destined for a CD you will have to split the file by cutting the section for side 2 maybe and pasting this into a new stereo Audacity document as 80 minutes is the most you can burn on a CD. If you want a CD with track points you will need to create 'markers' in Audacity speak at each gap between tracks. If your recording has neat gaps between the tracks then it's pretty easy as your can use Audacity's Find Silence command which will place a marker at every point in the file that the volume falls to a certain level for a certain length of time. This may need a bit of trial and error to get right but it's worth persevering as it saves much time over the manual method of listening to the whole recording an inserting markers at the point between songs or tracks. If everything's fine, you're almost there.

The last stage before putting your recording on CD or converting it to a compressed format for your media player is to Normalize the file. This looks at the whole file, finds the loudest section and then increased the volume of everything in proportion until the loudest part is just as loud as it can be before it clips. I usually Normalize to 98% or -0.3 dB. Now it's time to make a CD or file. From the File Export menu choose the type of destination file you need. For CD choose, WAV, AIFF and for your media player choose Ogg Vorbis, FLAC or MP3. Now sit back and let it create the final file.. If you have created markers for track points in your CD, you'll need to use the File Export Multiple command which will export each track as a separate file. If you need to make a CD use the WAV file or files in your favourite CD burning application and it should burn one perfectly and you can sit and listen to your recording safe in the knowledge you can make as many digital copies now and play it back forever with no fear of the tape wearing out or getting 'chewed'!Auda

My Computer Keeps Crashing - Has This Happened to You?

If you are asking the question "Why does my computer keep crashing?" then you are probably having problems with your computer registry and it's now time to take these problems seriously. If you just ignore them, then the crashes will get more frequent and in addition, you will probably also have dll error messages appearing, the dreaded blue screen and a slow running computer performance which will keep getting worse. All in all, not good for the stress levels.

Most computer users are very much unaware of the importance of the computer registry until the problems mentioned start to arise. The registry stores essential data relating to the optimum performance of the applications and programs that you have stored on your system. When the computer is brand new and just out of the box, the system will be running at optimum performance.

However over time, the registry gets overloaded as new programs and applications are added. Conflicts will start to occur with new and existing programs and as a result files become corrupted. Then the problems start to occur.

You could fix the registry yourself by using the reg edit application on your computer. However, unless you are completely sure of what you are doing, I strongly advise against this option. My reason for this, is that if you delete a wrong file you can completely damage or disabled your computer system.

The best and safest option to fix the problem is to run a free scan of your computer registry. The generated report will let you view the corrupted files. This will give you confidence in the software which is simple to use. The companies that own the top registry cleaners state that a top performing computer is only a few mouse clicks away.

So click on the link below for your free scan to cure the problem of your computer crashing. With a money back guarantee, great support and a program that is simple to use, what have you got to lose, except the stress that you are feeling now.

Here's a Quick Way to Fix a Slow Running Computer

Are you asking a very common question asked by most computer users "Why is my computer running so slow?" When you first get your new computer from the store, whether it be a laptop or PC, it runs at optimum performance and you get pleasure from using it.

Unfortunately for all of us computer users, the computer registry becomes overloaded with new programs or applications. As a result the computer performance is very much reduced over a period of time and with it comes a lot of stress as programs seem to take forever to load. It's like running a sprint when we first bring the computer home to now walking a marathon with one step forward and two steps back.

The main reason for a slow running computer is problems with the registry. The registry is such an important part of the operating system where vital settings for each program or application are stored. However as we keep adding new games or applications to the registry, conflicts with new and existing programs will happen and files will be then become corrupt.

Then problems such as a slow operating system, dll errors, a blue screen and computer crashes will occur. It's now time to deal with this exasperating problems before you throw the computer out of your window.

You could try and fix the registry yourself, but you need to be so sure at what you are doing. If you delete the wrong files, you could actually end up with a disabled computer and the associated expensive bills from your computer shop.

The quickest and safest way is to run a free scan or download from one of the top registry cleaners. It will allow you to confirm the problems and to try out the software. Do not be worried that you have to be a computer expert to use the registry cleaner. The top programs are simple to use and with a few clicks of your mouse you can be up and running like new in about 15 minutes.

Finding the Right Device Drivers

Computers come with all sorts of components to make them function properly. Hard drives, USB extensions, scanners, printers, you name it, it seems like there's a lot that goes into a well functioning PC. Finding the right device drivers for these components is essential in a smooth, and efficient running computer.

Drivers come in all flavours and sizes. Graphics, audio, printer drivers, and each one is required to be updated and functioning properly in order for you to get the most out of your PC. You see, drivers are translators. Basically a computer sends out generic signals that a devices driver then translates into a language the driver understands. A device only knows how to operate based on the functions its corresponding driver provides.

Unfortunately, these translators are notoriously known for being buggy. Drivers are updated all the time, and it can be difficult to stay on top with the correct and official versions. Very rarely are you informed of any critical updates and trying to find the correct download on the manufacturers web site can cause quite a headache.

Finding the right device drivers doesn't have to be as complex as it once was. Today there are dozens of software titles whose sole purpose is to scan your system for out of date or broken drivers. They then find the correct ones, download them and install keeping your computer the most up to date it has ever been. I'm a huge advocate of automatic driver software because it takes the difficult process of keeping your PC updated and running efficiently down to a simple click of a button.

When the Need to Fix a Runtime Error and DLL Errors Makes You Go Crazy

Usually, the need to fix a runtime error and DLL errors is enough to make someone go ballistic on his computer. All computer users have encountered errors at least one time. While using the computer, something suddenly pops out on the screen that stops your work instantly. And before you know it, you are frantically pulling out your hair trying to figure out how to fix it. But before you take a crowbar and take your computer apart, try to spend some time getting to know the problem and how to fix it.

An error is actually your computer's way of telling you that there is something wrong with a particular program in your computer and that it is not running well. This problem can be a slight one, or it can be so severe so as to make your system crash. So, do not get angry when a popup keeps appearing on your screen telling you that something is wrong.

A runtime error exists when one program is in conflict with another. In other words, a program cannot function properly with another. This usually happens when you have a lot of programs in your computer.

Here are some signs of a runtime error:

• Information traffic overflow in the registry;
• Errors requiring technical support;
• Not enough computer memory;
• Failure to change subscripts;
• Lack of stack and storage space;
• Errors in DLL loading; and
• Incapability of the computer to support DLL.

Of course, it does not take a computer wizard to figure out what is wrong with the computer. All you have to do is to know the nature of these errors. By knowing when to recognize an error, you can discover how to fix it before you break your computer to pieces.

So, what can you do to fix these errors? The first thing you should do is to clean your registry. You should get a registry cleaner to fix your computer errors. Just because the error says that a particular file is in conflict with another does not mean that you should delete the file. Get a cleaner from your computer technician. You can download it also from trusted sources in the Internet.

Before you go clean your registry, make sure you have a backup of all your important files. Just in case you forget, most registry cleaners have an undo option. Run the cleaner and take note of all the listed errors. That way, you do not delete something important.

There is really nothing to worry about if you get a computer error. Just knowing how to fix runtime error and DLL errors can save you a ton of worry and frustration.

How Do I Remove Antivirus 360 Off My Computer? - Antivirus 360 Removal Guide

Are you constantly receiving a barrage of false security alerts stating that your computer has a variety of security risks? Do you always get Pop-Ups saying that your computer is infected and you should install antivirus 360 in order to protect yourself? Well both these situations indicate that your computer has been infected with a Vundo Trojan Virus and if you installed antivirus 360 on your computer then I'm afraid you are severely affected. You see antivirus 360 is a rogue spyware program, whose sole purpose is to infect your system to collect valuable information and squeeze money out of you. If you have installed Antivirus 360 on your PC then you must remove the program asap as it is considered one the most dangerous forms of spyware around these days. So if you were wondering about "How do I remove antivirus 360 off my computer?" then worry no more as with the right antivirus 360 removal tool you can rid yourself of this problem within minutes.

If you haven't already realized this, Antivirus 360 is the latest version of the infamous rogue spyware antivirus 2008 and 2009, instead this time it has just taken a new name so it can further disguise itself. The name sounds very similar to well respected security tool, Norton 360 by Symantec, and it shouldn't be confused with it as Norton 360 is a fully legitimate anti-virus program.

Now the antivirus 360 application usually makes its way onto a user's computer via a video codec, which contained a Vundo Trojan, zlob or other malware. You can also get infected by downloading corrupt files from torrent websites, P2P networks (Limewire, Bearshare etc), or by simply visiting malicious websites.

Once the program has been installed it will flood the user with numerous pop-ups indicating that your computer has many virus infections and system risks, in reality all these viruses are completely imaginary and fake. After these notifications Antivirus360 advertises as an effective program that is able to fix all these problems, and of course you have to pay for it (this is how they make their money). The program is extremely dangerous because when it scans your computer it actually list legitimate windows applications and programs as infected files, and when it deletes them in attempt to "fix the error"; it can cause windows to become unusable. As a parasite, Antivirus360 can cause many serious problems for users, it can slowdown computers, limit connection of internet, increase loses of personal data (credit card numbers, bank details, passwords etc.), and even brake your machine. It is strongly recommend that you scan your system with a reputable spyware remover program to completely remove antivirus 360 and avoid any further problems.

Manual methods of deletion do exist for getting rid of the antivirus 360 application; however they are not as effective at completely removing the virus when compared to a legit antivirus 360 removal tool. You will have to use the windows registry (only recommended for advanced computer users) and locate all the files individually to get rid of it, and if you delete something valuable it cannot be reversed, so you run the risk of destroying your entire operating system. Plus manually removing the virus isn't going to prevent or keep your computer protected from future virus threats.

Nonetheless if you still wish to manually delete the program then you will have to follow these 3 steps:

Step 1: Kill the Antivirus 360 Processes

Step 2: Remove Antivirus 360 files, folders and all associated Antivirus 360 DLL files

Step 3: Uninstall Antivirus 360 registry entries using Windows Registry

Detailed instructions of how to carry out each step can be found very easily by conducting a simple search of "How to remove antivirus 360 manually" on Google.

I would have to conclude by saying that the best option for antivirus 360 removal would be to install a good quality Anti-spyware Program and scan your entire system for any Antivirus 360 infections. Automatic removal of Antivirus 360 is always a lot better and complete when compared to any attempts to manually remove Antivirus 360, which could sometimes lead to erroneous results. So if you were trying to figure out the answer to "how to remove antivirus 360 off my computer?" and are not completely aware of all the files and registry entries used by the rogue anti-spyware, then I recommend getting a good antivirus 360 removal tool, and forgot about manual deletion methods. It is the only way to completely remove the virus and keep your computer protected in the future.

By Vikram Singh

If you have been infected with the Antivirus 360 Vundo Trojan, then don't panic! You can Remove Antivirus 360 and other rogue spyware programs very easily with the right tools. I personally had great success with the Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus Software; it is PC Magazine's editor's choice as the best spyware removal tool. Not only does it remove Trojans but also other nasty Spywares, Adware, Malware, Hijackers, Spybot Viruses, and more. They also offer A Free Download and Scan so Check it Out!!

5 Tips For Getting Started With it Asset Management

  1. Set goals - what is it that you are looking to achieve with your new IT Asset Management program? This can be an effort to improve support resolution, respond to an audit request, or simply a need to know which assets you have across your networks. Set the goals and targets for your program so you could measure how your ITAM efforts are progressing.

  2. Get buy-in from the business side - ITAM is a business process, so get a buy-in from the business side of the house. Communicate your plan with senior management and get their support for the process and the investment, and make sure they are actively involved with exploring the improvement opportunities (for example, renegotiate your maintenance contracts, reassign assets or modify your IT usage policies). An ITAM program is probably not going to help improve your company's income, but it will most likely drive significant cost saving and help improve your IT efficiency - set your management expectation accordingly.

  3. Prepare for the long term - ITAM is an ongoing process and not a onetime event. Your business and your IT systems are constantly changing and keeping them aligned is an ongoing effort. An effective ITAM program requires ongoing review to allow you to maximize the value of the program. On the bright side, the ongoing nature of an ITAM program is a source for a constant flow of improvement opportunities (cost saving or procedure wise) which you could adopt to extract even more value from your assets. Examples includes reassigning licenses, reducing help-desk resolution time, and detecting risks to your IT asset such as missing security patches or illegal software, as well as risks to your business such as insufficient software licenses.

  4. Pick a tool and automate what you can. Once you define the goals and requirements for your ITAM program, pick a tool that would support your requirements and fit your environment. If your company has many branches and remote employees, or your network architecture is very complex, you need to consider a tool that can easily adjust to it. Look for a tool that will support your ongoing efforts, help detect improvement opportunities, and will not create a significant administrative overhead (we want to manage assets, not manage more-tools-to-manage-assets). Lastly, make sure you try the tool in your own environment before you commit to it.

  5. Establish a baseline - an accurate baseline of your assets is the foundation of a successful ITAM program. Your baseline should include an accurate inventory of your PC's (including physical locations and users), installed software, printers and financial records such as contracts and software licenses that your company owns. Once you have established a baseline, a proper tool and the right mindset will help you keep your inventory accurate so you could gain long-term value from your newly deployed ITAM program.

Cybercops for Cybercrime

In an effort to regulate the investigation of digital crime in the US, some states are looking at limiting the practice to Private Investigators. North and South Carolina, Georgia, New York, Nevada, Texas, Virginia and Washington are just some of the states that are enacting mandatory licensing of all forensic investigators.

One of the main problems around the investigation of digital crime is the issue of jurisdiction. Digital crime is borderless. Someone in New York can perpetrate criminal activities in Los Angeles without moving from his of her desk. According to the new laws anyone investigating this crime would have to be licensed in both New York and LA for his or her findings to be admissible in a court of law. Should supporting digital evidence be found in any other states, the investigator would need valid PI licenses for them too. Evidence from unlicensed investigators will be excluded from court and could result in the criminal prosecution of the offenders.

IT professionals by and large don't have any problems with attempts to regulate their field. Their primary concern is that they are being forced into an existing and ill-fitting category rather than being given one of their own. They fear that by allowing anyone with a PI license to claim forensic investigative credibility, evidence will be unnecessarily compromised and the field's image will be irreparably tarnished. Their argument is that if they have to be licensed, then regular PIs should also be licensed to carry out the delicate and specialised work of data collection and recovery.

What is in fact needed is more education on all sides. Forensic investigators need to learn more about court procedures and what constitutes admissible evidence, for example, maintaining the chain of custody of evidence and the proper documentation of findings. Prosecutors should know more about what is and is not possible so that they'll recognise outlandish claims and know when to challenge the credibility of evidence.

If PIs want to engage in digital investigations they should be able to prove their competency in the field. There should be a standard exam that all aspirant digital investigators need to pass in order to qualify for a forensic investigator PI license. Standardised practices will make it easier for investigators to work across state boundaries. Standardisation will also contribute to transparency in a field whose specialised nature places it at risk of obfuscation.

Regulations are necessary in all industries. They help those within the industries work to the best of their abilities and create a sense of accountability and responsibility. It's undeniable that the field of digital investigation needs regulating, as without it evidence is open to compromise. But legislators should take care that the regulations serve the industries that they are designed to protect, and don't detract from their credibility. Stan King, from the Forensics and Investigative Response Practice of Verizon Business Services said, "Like a doctor who's gone to medical school, works in his field, takes continuing education and maintains his medical licenses-that's the level of accountability we need for digital forensics". I don't think that the courts of South Carolina would argue.

Has the thought of having a small mobile PC that doesn't weigh a ton, and can handle as much processing power as a computer ever appealed to you, well you and many other consumers certainly voiced strong opinions on this matter. The UMPC is the size of a paperback book, and is small and light enough to carry round with you all the time. The thing that really set the UMPC apart was the large clear screen which comes in sizes to 4-7 inches and is 100% touch screen, which means no more QWERTY Keyboards or other external keyboards needed to type onto the device. With the full screen on the UMPC you can enjoy media from your Windows Vista Desktop PC like it was meant to be enjoyed, you can create slide shows of your family holiday, and then play them back to anyone you meet when you are out and about. This can even be accompanied by music of your choosing, which really brings so much more to the viewing experience.

All UMPC devices come preloaded with a mobile version of Windows Vista, which means a user is going to enjoy a good experience and will be able to do so much more whilst on the move

Watch TV Series Online for Free

Where do I get to Watch Free TV Series Online

The internet has two main ways that you can watch TV from your computer. You will need to be connected to the internet to view most of these shows. One of the free ways to watch TV on the net is by login into the television websites available online.

There are hundreds of websites that offer absolutely free channels online. These act as portals with links to thousands on world stations. The websites have grouped the stations into several sections depending on the country of origin. When you open the home page, the website will have countries listed from where the site has stations from. Others go a step further and group the stations into the various languages that are used in broadcasting these channels.

Once you choose your country or language of choice you will be directed to a page which lists the stations available in that country or language. You can then click and watch shows from your selected area or language directly from the internet. The only biggest hurdle with free web service sites is that they get a lot of traffic demanding free services.

The result is that they are either too slow to log onto or they just keep on being interrupted midway a show due to the heavy traffic. In most cases you can't even be able to open any station in the first instance due to clogging. You will get an error message every time you try to access them.

The other way of getting to watch series, episodes and shows online is through downloading special software. The software is a combination of thousands of world channels into one easy to use package. These are mainly retailed online and upon payment of a start up membership, you are directed to a download page. You will download the software into your computer just like you would any operating software.

Once downloaded, you will need to click on the exec files to be able to have it installed into your computer. Upon installation, you can then open the software and watch global channels. The whole process takes anywhere from 2-5 minutes depending on your internet connection speeds.

In a similar way, the stations are grouped according to which country they are aired from. You can choose the country and you will get a list of hundreds of channels available. You can then proceed to open the station and watch your choice programs.

I'm currently using one of the most popular softwares that I bought for less than $50 for a lifetime membership. It came with over 3000 channels and 1000 radio stations.

It's a nice way to watch in privacy and catch on to some off the x rated TV series and shows without worrying about interruptions.

You can use the same service I use to watch all TV Shows, TV Sports, News & Movies, Right Here!!or even better- join this membership to share files and download absolutely free movies, online TV shows, OVER HERE!!

5 Common Problems That Slow Down PCs

Remember how fast your PC was when it was brand new? Back then it would start up within seconds and programs would load almost instantaneously. But how is it these days? Is it taking several minutes to start up and programs you load seem slow and unresponsive? This is a very common scenario and one that can be avoided with a little care and attention to these five common causes of a slow PC.

1. Not Enough Memory - It's important to have enough memory on your computer to keep programs running smoothly, especially if you have large programs like Microsoft Office, or play a lot of PC games. If you are using Windows XP it is recommended that you have at least 512Mb RAM, although at this point, 1Gb seems to be the sweet spot, more again if you are using Vista. The amount of RAM your PC has can be checked by right-clicking 'My Computer' and choosing 'Properties'. If you need to upgrade your RAM be sure it's the right type for your PC. Fitting the wrong type of RAM can cause the PC to slow down even more, crash inexplicably or stop working altogether.

2. Full Hard Drive - It's possible that your hard drive could be too full of data to function efficiently. If you use a digital camera or store video or music on your PC you can soon run out of disk space if you are not careful. As a rule of thumb it is best to keep 10% of the disk space free for programs to run smoothly. If you don't have this much free space, you can delete unused programs on the C: drive. Check your C: drive to see how much space you have on your computer. You can do this by going to 'Start' then 'My Computer' then 'C: drive'. Click on the C: drive and it will tell you how much free space you have under 'Details' on the left bar.

3. A Cluttered Registry - The 'Registry' is a collection of files that keep a record of all the many and complex file locations and configuration settings required by all the devices, applications and users of the PC. The longer you use Windows, the more cluttered your registry can grow, especially if you regularly install and uninstall software. Some applications, known as "orphan" registry entries, don't remove all traces of themselves when uninstalled, causing problems such as sluggish performance, system lockups, or a bloated registry that takes longer to load. It's worth considering registry cleaning software to make sure your registry is clean and uncorrupted.

4. Too Many Start-Up Programs - When you boot your computer, there are several programs that automatically start behind the scenes. These programs eat up your computer's available processing capacity and slow it down dramatically. Most likely, you don't need all of these programs to automatically start when you boot your computer.

5. Spyware and Malicious Programs - If you have ever experienced annoyances such as a new toolbar in your Internet browser, or a new start-up page that you did not set, you are likely plagued with spyware. Every PC should be protected using security software that includes anti-virus, anti-spyware and a firewall.

Learning About What Is Blue Ray Technology

It seems like every couple of years there are new advances made and our technology springs forward. Sometimes it can be difficult to keep up with all of the incredibly fast paced advances made. Currently, blue ray technology has been brought into the mainstream and learning what is blue ray technology can keep consumers up to date with the latest inventions in home entertainment.

Discovering What Is Blue Ray Technology

For many, home movies were originally played on the classic vcr tape. Then, the technology moved onto DVD players, and the look of the movies was sharper and of a much better quality. Now the next evolution has started with blue ray technology.

Finding out about what is blue ray technology includes learning about the differences between blue ray technology and the current mass marketed DVD systems. Blue ray technology has been developing for years, since the mid 1990's when HDTV's were becoming more common for consumers to buy. A technology was needed that could record and play back the high definition recordings. Blue ray technology was created to fill that void.

So what is blue ray technology and how is it different from the standard DVD? Blue ray technology can store far more information that the traditional DVD, almost 5 times more storage is available on a blue ray disc. The blue ray discs use a blue ray laser to read the information where other DVD's use a red laser.

With a blue laser the wave length is shorter allowing for more storage to be used. This did cause some problems originally, as the discs were much easier to scratch. The case that held the disc had to be made more durable and was somewhat bulky. Advances in polymer coatings have advanced allowing for a better protective coating to be placed on the disc, alleviating the need for the bigger containers.

There are many companies that have a stake in the development of the next cutting edge technology and these companies are looking into both blue ray technology and a HD DVD. Some of the big companies are fighting over which technology should be used and this has caused a split in which companies support which format. Even companies that produce movies are split over which type of technology to use, which means depending on what movie a consumer wishes to purchase; they may need two different types of players.

Both he blue ray and the hddvd players are continuing to improve. In the end, consumers may discover that they enjoy both types of players and they both may be successful with consumers. Learning about what is blue ray technology can help a consumer get a good idea of basic information in regards to this new technology.

Top Ways of Backing Up Business Data

Business data is one of the most crucial forms of data that can reside on a computer. Loss of data can destroy a business completely especially when businesses are completely reliant on this data. It is for this reason that all business owners should carry out frequent backups of their data. These backups may take place on a daily or weekly basis depending on their schedules and what they feel comfortable with. With all the backup options that are available a business owner may easily feel very confused about which choice to make. Certain backup options function better than others but some are much easier to use than those that are usually referred to as convenient. If you own a business you would normally prefer a backup solution that offers you reliability as well as convenience. The rest of the article explores various data and backup options that are available to you and how you can implement them properly.

The primary option that can be used to back up data is hard disk imaging otherwise referred to as cloning which can easily be carried out with disk imaging software. Most people usually think of it as the best backup solution because its saves every little bit of data that you have stored on your hard drive. This is great because if you should have any need of restoring your data from scratch due to data loss you can get everything back. Furthermore it is also the quickest and easiest means of backing up your data especially for a person who doesn't really know that much about computers and can't spend a whole day just trying to back up their data.

Another solution for data backup is the remote online backup. What this means is that your data can easily be saved on a server that is quite secure and in a place that is far away from your current location. This is a great idea for so many reasons; the most important of these reasons is that it protects you from losing out in case a disaster occurs which may affect where you work or where you live. If you back up your files online you also achieve what you intend to achieve cheaply and affordably. Online backup companies also make use of various forms of professional hardware and software in order to ensure that you data is stored securely in a digital vault that is very secure.

One other business backup method you can use to secure business data are external storage devices. These devices are rather simple to use and are very useful too. External devices which are capable of data storage come in many different forms. Most of them are usually external hard drives and memory devices called memory sticks. Most people prefer to use memory sticks because they hold a lot more data and can plug into your USB port very easily. They also tend to hold larger amounts of data which is usually sufficient space for whatever it is that you have which requires backup and storage.

Questions and Answers About Proxy Server

What is a proxy server

A Proxy (proxy server) is a server that acts as mediator between the client (the computer of a user) and server (the computer on the other ends of network connection on which the information requested by the user appears for example web server site.) When clients request data from an Internet resource, traffic goes from your web browser/application first through the proxy before it reaches the requested sources and back through the proxy. Then the proxy will transmit the data (information) to you.

Why I need to use a proxy server

1. Transfer speed improvement. If the file you requested was received before to your proxy server, then proxy server will interrupt this file request and you will receive the file directly from proxy. However need to know, you can got the "speed down" effect. This effect appears when your proxy has long answer time because there is slow connection between you and your proxy server.

2. Security and privacy. Anonymous proxies destroys information about your computer in the requests header. So you can safely surf the net and your information will never be used by hackers and spammers.

3. Sometimes you encounter some problems while accessing to web server (for example, web-chat). You have mistaken while working with some data and / or the server administrator restricted access from your IP. So you can use the anonymous proxy and try to access again.

How can I get fresh proxy server information?

Every proxy server is inclusive of an IP address and a proxy port that is listed next to the address. You can search "free proxy list" on google to get newest proxy servers. Here is a daily updated proxy list I recommend: http://www.aplusproxy.com/proxylist/index.php

How to configure IE 7.0 to use a proxy server?

1. Open Internet Explorer 7.0.

2. Click on the Tools icon from the upper right of the browser and select Internet Options from the menu.

3. Select the Connections tab and click the button for LAN Settings.

4. Click the radio button for Proxy Server. Type the IP number of the proxy In the Address box, and add the port number of the proxy in the Port box.

5. Click the OK button, then OK again.

6. After setting a proxy server, you need to check if that proxy is working. Type www.google.com in your IE7 address bar and see if google index page is loaded for you.

Why Is My Computer Slow At Loading?

Is your computer slow at loading nowadays, when it was working perfectly well a couple of days ago? I remember when I had this problem some months ago, when my computer suddenly processes and loads really slowly for seemingly no reason. I got so worried when I realized this problem, and thought I might have to replace my PC with a new one.

1. Reasons For Computer To Slow Down

One of the main reasons why your computer can slow down after a prolonged period of use is due to errors in the registry. This is the area where your computer stores all the software and hardware instructions to run correctly. Over time, the number of errors or bad entries will accumulate in the registry if it is not maintained often.

2. How To Fix The Registry?

If you have the technical experience with cleaning registries, you can clean it yourself, but do be careful because moving the wrong entries can be fatal to the system.

3. Download A Cleaner Software

For a much safer and faster way to clean up your registry, you should download a registry cleaner to scan and fix your PC. Even with a cleaning software, you should still be careful to backup your original settings, just in case something goes wrong during the repair process. The software that I use provides this safety feature that allows me to backup all my settings before running the repair.

Using such software allows you to clean your registry even if you do not have any technical experience. It is a handy tool to maintain your PC and ensure that you have an optimized computer all the time.

4. Functions Of A Registry Cleaner

The software will run a free scan on your PC after you have downloaded it. It then displays to you the number of errors found in your registry, and then categorizes them into their type of errors.

After the scan, you should do a backup before proceeding to run the fix. The whole process took a little over 10 minutes for my computer, but it may be faster or slower based on the number of errors found. In my case, there were about 200 errors found in my registry when I ran the scan. After the fixing process, I was prompted to restart my computer. The startup speed of my computer was significantly faster afterwards, and my PC was running like new again.

5. Conclusion

To be able to cure your slow computer, you need to discover the real causes of your slow computer. It is best to get scanning software to find all the problems on your computer before deciding on the best course of action. Unless you have technical experience with fixing a computer, you should not attempt to do this on your own. You can visit my website link at the end of this article to download the cleaner that I used to repair my computer.

What is overclocking?

Many people probably don't know what overclocking is but have possibly heard the term used before. To put it in its simplest terms, overclocking is taking a PC component such as a CPU and running at a specification higher than rated by the manufacturer. Every part produced by companies such as Intel and AMD are rated for a specific speeds. They have tested the capabilities of the part and certified it for that given speed. Of course, most parts are underrated for increased reliability. Overclocking a part simply takes advantage of the remaining potential out of a computer part that the manufacturer is unwilling to certify the part for but it is capable of.

Overclocking the CPU

In general CPU chips are tested by the manufacturer to see at what speed they fail at.. They are then rated at a speed one step lower than this. Since the tests are quite stringent the idea is that it may be possible to push the CPU somewhat faster than its rating while maintaining stability in the system. Sometimes, when manufacturers are short on stock, they package faster MHz CPUs as slower ones; overclockers perceive this as a windfall.

Results from overclocking the CPU alone must be balanced against the rest of the system's specifications, namely the bus speed of the motherboard, memory, et cetera. For example, a 20% increase in CPU speed does not usually translate to a 20% overall improvement. The CPU might be running faster than the rest of the system, operating in a "hurry up and wait" environment

Unsuccessful overclocking can result in an unstable system at best, and in the worst case scenario can damage the CPU. Though the latter is less common, it happens. Pushing also reduces the lifetime of the CPU an indeterminable amount, as it forces the CPU to work harder and hotter. Cooling fans and a good heatsink become even more important in this case.

Overclocking the System Bus

Changing the CPU bus speed successfully can create a noticeable improvement on the entire system because all components will run faster. Since the CPU's effectiveness is helped by the bus speed, an improvement here can also utilize the full benefit of the CPU. However, overclocking the PC is risky because it means pushing every PC component on the motherboard.

HEAT!

The biggest obstacle to overclocking the computer system is heat. Today's high-speed computer systems already produce a large amount of heat. Overclocking a computer system just compounds these problems. As a result, anyone planning to overclock their PC should be very aware of the needs for high performance cooling solutions.
The most common form of cooling a computer system is through standard air cooling. This comes in the form of CPU heatsinks and fans, heat spreaders on memory, fans on video cards and case fans. Proper airflow and good conducting metals are key to the performance of air cooling. Large copper heatsinks tend to perform better and the greater number of case fans to pull in air into the system also helps to improve cooling.

Beyond air cooling there is water cooling and phase change cooling. These PCs are far more complex and expensive than standard PC cooling solutions, but they offer a higher performance at heat dissipation and generally lower noise. Well-built systems can allow the overclocker to really push the performance of their hardware to its limits.

If you would like to learn more about overclocking with easy to follow guides taking you through step by step. I would recommend on visiting the link below. This site teach you how to get the most out of your PC without damaging it.
